The Mitt Romney, Man of the People® Tour rolls on…

On Friday, in a move aimed at solidifying his American-made bona fides in the heart of domestic auto manufacturing country, GOP candidate Mitt Romney told a crowd that his wife “drives a couple of Cadillacs.” Yep, here’s a man with his finger on the pulse of the working class.

Earlier today, EveryMitt struck again – this time south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Romney: I have friends who own NASCAR teams

Mitt Romney went to the Daytona 500 NASCAR race Sunday for what should have been a chance to show he’s one of the guys. Instead, in casual conversation with an Associated Press reporter at the Florida track, he reminded people once again that he is not exactly a regular Joe.

Asked by the AP reporter if he follows NASCAR, Romney responded, “Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans. But I have some great friends who are NASCAR team owners.” (Full story…)

I swear, folks, Romney is more like an SNL skit about a presidential candidate than he is an actual candidate, the only difference being that the real Mitt is funny.

So stay tuned. The Man of the People® Tour 2012 rolls on across this great land of ours, glad-handing and baby-kissing and generally just kicking it with all the other regular joes. With any luck, his next stop will be in one of our nation’s predominately African-American neighborhoods. I cannot wait to hear the presumptive nominee talking about how much black people love him…..

UPDATE: Oh, wait – commenter JJ below is right, isn’t he?

So I guess next on the list is Mexican-Americans, followed by Asians. I wonder if he’ll do his Hop-Sing impression? That kills at the family reunion….

  1. At a poker game this weekend, my buddies and I invented a game called Seven Card Mitt. It is a seven card stud game, high only (best hand wins). But if an ace appears as any one of the up cards, the game flip flops to become low only (worst hand wins). Fun game to play, and generated lots of laughs.

A variation called Super PAC Seven Card Mitt emerged. In that version, if an ace appears and you don’t want the game to flip flop, you can prevent it from doing so by matching the pot at that time.

Something new to bring to your next poker game.

  2. He’s just doing this to mess with those of us paying attention. We think this will cause him problems, but the Base has the most selective hearing of any people on earth. If they can convince themselves that Sarah is smart and Newt is honest, they can convince themselves that the handsome rich kid in class actually likes hanging out with them in the cafeteria. No really, ohmigod, he is sooooooooo nice.
