Teabagger Jedi Ex Cathedra Journalism: now being practiced in Lynchburg, VA
A tea party organizer angry over Rep. Tom Perriello’s (D-Va.) vote in favor of health care reform published what he thought was the freshman member’s home address on a blog, in case any readers “want to drop by” and provide a “personal touch” to their views.
Unfortunately, mistakes were made:
Rather than giving out Perriello’s address however, the tea party activist instead mistakenly printed the home address of the congressman’s brother. Perriello’s brother and wife have four children under the age of eight.
The perpetrator is unconvinced by, well, facts:
In an interview with POLITICO, Troxel admitted to writing the post and said that he has no intention of removing the address from the blog.
Troxel found the address through a directory website and said he would only replace what he currently has on the blog with an address provided by Perriello’s office.
“If they would like to provide me with the address of Tom, then I’d be more than happy to take it down,” he said. “I have no reason to believe it’s not his house.”
Here’s the money shot:
Troxel, a 2005 graduate of Liberty University, added “I was a journalism major in college, so I have every reason to believe my research is accurate.”
I laughed so hard I nearly hacked up my liver.
The Internets + a journalism degree from Liberty “University” = infallibility. May The Farce be with you…

Might that qualify as blackmail? Threatening Tom Perriello’s brother and family with life-disrupting protesters until Perriello’s office gives out Tom Perriello’s address?
I hope that the Rep’s legal counsels are looking into it.
Honestly, the poor quality of stalkers nowadays… I blame it on the Internet generation. When will these kids learn that no outdated database can take the place of squatting in a Dumpster for hours wearing adult diapers, clutching your night-vision goggles and chewing nicotine gum to remain alert?
It’s called civic duty, people. Somebody has to be the one to tell the pitchforks and torches where to go. Wasn’t it Jefferson who said…oh wait, we’re supposed to have erased him from our collective memories for sins of impiety.
Yeah, so i’m not sure that i can continue my direction here without referencing Comrade Snowball. Never mind, i guess. If you need me i’ll be down at the drug store stocking up on adult diapers and nicotine gum.

Nigel Coleman, chairman of the Danville Tea Party, said he re-posted the comment that originated on another conservative blog, including the address, Monday on his Facebook page. The posts were taken down after the mistake was discovered.
“We’ve never been associated with any violence or any vandalism,” he said. “We’re definitely sorry that we posted the incorrect address.”
Gee–was his point, “Wish we’d posted the CORRECT address?”
